Methods of Payment:
You won't be blamed for thinking that any purchase from abroad is going to involve the hassle of foreign currency exchange. Well, not in this case! I carry out all my financial transactions in the U.S., so dealing with me is as easy and pain-free as dealing with any regular American company -- probably, in fact, even easier! There are two principal options for payment:
Option #1: | ![]() | i-Check Online Payment System: |
Turnaround Times: Please bear in mind that it is impossible for me to carry any items in stock. I currently produce 22 variants of 14 models of holster in three colors and two belt-widths for over one hundred semi autos, so I would need to have over thirteen thousand holsters in stock just to have one example of each! Which is why every holster, mag-carrier or belt has to be hand-crafted from the details you provide on your order-form.
So please be patient. I want to get your order processed, made up and sent off to you as soon as possible. You can do your part to keep things running smoothly by providing all the information requested on the order-form, like color choice, preferred width of belt-slots, loops or clips, and waist size for belts, including elastic belt E2. Please remember that failure to provide this essential information will only lead to what neither of us really want -- unnecessary delay!
These will vary with seasonal pressures and workloads. In order to be fair to everyone, all orders are dealt with in chronological order. I try to maintain a turnaround time of around 4 to 8 weeks from the date I receive your order to the date of dispatch -- slightly longer if I've been on holiday (rare!) or before and after Christmas, when this can easily be doubled and where there's also an overloaded postal system to contend with. Remember that everyone wants delivery in time for the Big Day, so avoid disappointment and get your Christmas orders in as early as possible.
Credit Card Orders:
But there's more! I approached a UK merchant bank and enquired after the possibilities of setting up a card account here in England. They were more than helpful. As ever, there were conditions. One: I was required to produce a fairly high minimum monthly turnover, this amount to be made good by me if the minimum figure wasn't met -- which it probably wouldn't be, given that I work on my own and have a limited output. Two: As all transactions were to be in US dollars, there would be a foreign-exchange levy of 14 Pounds Sterling (around 23.00 USD) per transaction, this in addition to the usual card charges.
So there we have it, folks. Unless things change drastically, acceptance of payment by credit card is not going to be a viable option. However, there is the Online Check System which is now in place. It's at least as fast and convenient as a credit card and the big plus is that I don't have to move to the US or form a corporation to allow my customers to use it!
I would love nothing better than the convenience of accepting payment by credit card on the Internet. I have researched the matter exhaustively over the last year or so and here's what I finally came up with. Setting up a merchant account (i.e. the ability to accept payment by credit card) in the US is relatively easy -- but only if you are a US resident. There are a mess of US banks ready, willing and able to grant me merchant status, but only on condition that I (a) take up residence in the US or if (b) I form a US corporation. Now I happen to think that the United States is a wonderful place and I'd love to live there; but I'm also perfectly happy living where I am here in England on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, so I don't think I'll be making a move in the forseeable future. As for forming a corporation: I'm a one-man business, for crying out loud! How do I promote myself into a corporation and all that that entails? Answers on a postcard please.
